Queensberry Bay

General FAQs

When are you open?

The park is open for our owners from 1st January to 30th November.

We open for touring and self-catering on the second weekend in January – so for 2015 that’s the 9th 0f January, and we’re shut for the whole of December every year – although the offices are still open for bookings and enquiries Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Can I live on the park?

No, sorry.  There are 2 types of park – a holiday park and a residential park and Queensberry Bay is a holiday park.

To comply with the terms of our licence we have to be sure that our owners are only using the park for holidays, not for work or for living here – and that they pay council tax somewhere.  In practice this means that have a list of requirements that we have to go through, starting with the person’s home address – and it goes from there.

Who owns Queensberry Bay?

We’re small company owned by John and Joanne – who have been here since 2001.  Before that there has only been one owner of Queensberry Bay and that’s the Graham family.

To learn more, see our History of Queensberry Bay page.

How big is Queensberry Bay?

Our Solway-side location down in beautiful Dumfries & Galloway is spread over 17 acres and includes a mix of owned statics, touring, seasonal touring caravans and glamping pods. Along with Powfoot Spa which is also owned and run by us, we also have 15 acres behind the ark that is used for Rupert’s Rescue retreat.

Do you rescue animals?

Yes we do, although we’re not a registered charity we do rescue all manner of animals and give them a home.
