1. ARE YOU OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?
Lauren says: We are. It doesn't matter if you're staying with us, staying on another park, living in the area or just passing through. You’re welcome to use the spa.
Joanne says: Can we add "terms and conditions apply" please?
Cathy says: I think you can consider it done!

2. What is pampering@powfoot?
Cathy says: You know what – I'm ashamed to say that for my first 2 years here I never even used the spa!! I showed people round and explained the controls and that – but I’d never used it.
Pam says: Why on earth not??
Cathy says: It sounds so daft now – but before I lost all that weight I hated people seeing me even in trousers and a full length kaftan with a balaclava. Add a bathing costume to the mix and I’d run a mile.
Lauren says: I know what you mean Cathy – but it’s completely private. There's no one else in there.
Cathy says: I realise that now – and since Joanne made me use it I love it.
Pam says: There is a magic feeling in the spa – I don't know what it is but it's a special place that's for sure.
Pauline says: Joanne knows what the "magic" is, don't you Joanne?
Joanne says: Pauline – we don't talk about that now, remember?
Cathy says: What does Pauline mean, Joanne?
Joanne says: We had a few issues at the start. Other worldly issues. Nothing to worry about.
Cathy says: What does Joanne mean, Pauline?
Pauline says: Well. It started with the lights and went from there. There was a time when the only person who'd go in was the woman who came to calm it all down, like.
Joanne says: Pauline – that was years ago. And you said you didn’t believe in "all that nonsense."
Pauline says: So did you – but you still got that woman to come and calm it all down. What were her name? Cynthia?
Joanne says: Cilla. And the point is – she did just that. She calmed it all down. And it's been a different place since. And I'd appreciate it if someone would answer the question so we can all move on.
Pauline says: Isn't that what that Cynthia said?
Joanne says: Pauline!!!
Lauren says: I'm quite enjoying this! I've never seen Joanne so red.
Pauline says: You should have seen her in our red uniforms!
Joanne says: Ladies???
Pam says: Sorry. It's a log cabin with a sauna, a pool spa and a hot tub, which is outside in on the veranda. I love the hot tub. It's great at night!
Cathy says: It's unique in this part of the world, isn’t it?
Pam says: No – there's loads of hot tubs around. Where is it you live again, Cathy??
Cathy says: I mean the whole thing – the whole thing's unique isn’t it?
Lauren says: It is indeed. I did quite a bit of research on this and we’re the only one around for some time. You didn't mention the chill out area and the fact that it's only available for private hire.

3. WHAT DOES "PRIVATE HIRE" MEAN?
Lauren says: What it says on the tin – you hire the unit for yourself or your party, we show you round and explain the controls, then once the door's closed behind us, it's yours for the session.

4. HAVE YOU GOT A SWIMMING POOL?
Pam says: No. Like I said it’s a log cabin with a sauna, a pool spa and a hot tub.
Cathy says: But you can swim in the pool spa can't you?
Lauren says: Indeed you can – but it’s against a current. It's really an exercise pool. And there’s only room for 1 person to swim at a time. How big is it?
Joanne says: It's 15 feet by 8 feet – or that's 4.5 m x 2.4 m for you, Lauren.
Pam says: There are different settings for the current though – one guy lost his shorts!
Cathy says: And there's seats one end of the pool spa for friends to sit and chat.

5. How many guests can I have?
Cathy says: Our normal hire is for 4 people.
Nicola says: We do take more though, don’t we?
Lauren says:We do indeed. We can take up to 6. But our prices are for 4 – if there's more people the charges are more of course.
Pam says: Why are we limited to 6?
Joanne says: It's about space and what the spa was designed for. It was never intended as a party venue. It's an adult relaxation facility and once you get to 6 you're pushing the bounds of peaceful relaxation.
Nicola says: There's a discount if there's just 2 people though isn't there?
Lauren says: There is. We offer a 20% discount for parties of 2.
Cathy says: What if someone books for 2 and then 5 of them turn up. I've had that happen before now.
Lauren says: That's only a problem if they've booked a special (towels, food, wine etc.) because we won't have bought enough. If it's just a basic relaxer session then they'll have to pay the full price plus the extra person before they can go in.

6. CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?
Cathy says: This is the second most asked question.
Joanne says: What's the first?
Cathy says: "Why can’t I bring my own wine?"
Joanne says: OK – so dealing with the children first . . .
Nicola says: No – the spa is intended for adult use only.
Joanne says: It's slightly more complicated than that. We’re not insured for children to use the spa so the answer will always be "no".

7. WHY CAN'T I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
Cathy says: FAQ no 1!!
Pam says: This does my head in. Why do people think every rule is there to catch them out??
Joanne says: I don't think they do – I think most people just don't understand some of the issues we have to comply with every day. Like food allergies and licensing laws.
Cathy says: And they think we're trying to make money.
Joanne says:Well, we are – we've got bills to pay the same as everyone else!
Cathy says: True – but I've never worked anywhere that was as fair as we try to be.
Joanne says:Thanks for that. We do try! So why can't our guests bring their own food and drink?
Lauren says: I know this. The food one is because of allergies. If someone's allergic to a food type – say nuts – then they can die just being in contact with them.
Joanne says: That's a very important point, Lauren. My own niece has this allergy. If we provide the food at least we know what’s in it.
Pauline says: Do you remember that woman that left crisps and sandwiches floating in the spa pool?
Joanne says: Do I not! We had to close the spa for 2 days after that to drain and clean everything from top to bottom.
Pauline says: Didn't she then complain about something?
Joanne says: It was better than that! She complained that Cathy hadn't been "nice enough" with her. And when challenged on the food side she denied it. So we sent a copy of the CCTV footage.
Pam says: What did she say then?
Joanne says: She said she wouldn't be back. So at least we agreed on that!
Nicola says: On the alcohol side – isn't that to do with licensing?
Joanne says: It is, partly. As we all know, there are all manner of rules about who you can serve alcohol to – or when you should refuse them. So there's that to think about. In addition we don't allow use of the spa by anyone under the influence. Take your own drink in and we don't know what you've had. That invalidates the insurance.
Cathy says: And we will end the session or stop you going in if we suspect you've got food or drink.
Pam says: There is another issue though – when we provide food and drink it comes with plates and glasses and serviettes etc. So you get the whole deal.
Cathy says: I have to say - when our Pam's set up the spa for a special with food or drink it really does look lovely.

8. DO YOU HAVE HOISTS FOR ACCESS?
Joanne says: I'll answer this because it's really important. We don't have hoists. We're classified and insured as an adult only relaxation facility. We're not a hydrotherapy, treatment or other therapy pool. If anyone is at all concerned on this please see our access statement, which covers the spa. Or please call us to discuss this further.

9. How much does it cost?
Lauren says: It depends on what you want. We have 4 sessions a day and the sessions can range from the basic relaxer to a pamper half day. The starlight’s more expensive but other than that the charges are the same all week.
Cathy says: Out of interest, which is the most popular?
Joanne says: The relaxer and the pamper half day, interestingly enough – so that's the cheapest and the most expensive.
Cathy says: That makes sense – the relaxer’s the simplest and the pamper half day is really good value for money.
Pam says: And I hear the masseuse in the pamper half day's quite good too.
Cathy says: Nice of you to say so!
Joanne says: Our prices are quoted for 4 people. There's a discount for only 2 and an extra charge for more than 4.

10. What is a spa mini break?
Cathy says: In general, or at Queensberry bay?
Joanne says: I wasn't planning on submitting an entry to Wikipedia, so I guess that would be "at Queensberry Bay".
Nicola says: It's a break using either one of our letting vans or your own touring or camping unit but combined with a set number of spa sessions and massages.
Joanne says: Has anybody read the schedule for this year?
Lauren says: I have.
Pam says: Goody two shoes!
Lauren says: We have to know for answering the phones! The spa mini breaks this year are the "Rescue Me" and the "Taster Session"
Nicola says: Do the spa mini breaks apply to everyone?
Joanne says: Yes – if they're staying on our park. Because they’re a package including accommodation (or pitch fee if you’re touring) they don’t apply to visitors from other parks or from the local area. Find out more about our
