When are you open?

We’re open for touring from 9th January to 30th November.  We’re shut for the whole of December every year – although the offices are still open for bookings and enquiries Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

What are your self catering units like?

We work really hard to keep our standards up and we want a break with us to be a special treat.  We aim to make and keep our vans looking beautiful letting you arrive sit down, put the kettle on and relax.

We’re not cheap and cheerful – but that’s not what our regular visitors come for.

Are your letting units on the front row?

No, in 2011 following complaints from our regular guests we took the decision not to use the highly sought after front row pitches for our letting fleet.

The units still have sea views, are to our normal high standards and come with central heating and double glazing and have huge decks and lots of space.

What do your self catering hire charges include?

Everything except food and drink (it is self-catering, after all).

We also offer packages for special occasions.

Is there a minimum stay?

It varies by season, but during peak season for example it’s 3 nights.

And we still offer special minibreak rates for 3 nights starting Friday and 4 nights starting Monday.

What’s a spa minibreak?

It’s a stay on our park, combined with a series of spa sessions and / or treatments and we offer various types of spa mini break.

How do you charge for self catering?

Our prices cover the unit for 2 people arriving in one vehicle and sharing the double bed.  There are extra charges for extra people (our units only sleep 4), beds, cars (you can only have 2 at any one unit) and pets (Eden units only).

What about the sofa bed?

We never need to use the sofa bed (partly because it isn’t a proper bed – you’re here to relax!) and we have a maximum number of 4 guests per van.

Why do you only take groups of 4?

Because we only have 2 bed units on our fleet and these sleep 4 in fixed beds as standard.  We’re not interested in letting sub-standard units or cramming in extra beds to make more money at the expense of our guests’ comfort.

What time is check in?

Check in is normally from 4pm.  If you arrive earlier and we’re ready we’ll check you in earlier – but please don’t bank on that as it depends solely on housekeeping’s workload and the previous occupants.

In peak season (May to the end of September) we can check in up to 8pm (we have to close the entry barriers so unfortunately can’t accommodate check-ins after this time).

What time is check out?

Check out is 10 am, this allows our house-keepers to take extra care and attention when preparing our vans for the next guest.

Can I bring my dog?

Your best friend!

Yes!  As one of Scotland’s most pet-friendly caravan parks, four-legged friends are most welcome at Queensberry Bay.

Can my dog sleep on the bed?

No, sorry – we don’t allow dogs in the bedrooms or on the beds and we do expect owners to clear up any mess in or outside the van.

Also, we don’t allow dogs to be left in the unit on their own – it’s just not fair on the dog (or the neighbours!)

Which self-catering units are pet free?

Most of our guests are pet lovers – that’s why they come here in the first place – but our top of the range unit, the Annan, is pet free.

Can I smoke in the unit?

No – all of our units are non-smoking only.

What do I need to bring with me?

Nothing except food and drink, some clothes and a sense of humour!

Here’s list of what we include so you can decide for yourself what you should bring.

We provide:

  • All bedding
  • Bath towels (per guest)
  • Bath sheets (per guest)
  • Bath robes (per adult guest)
  • Soaps (1 per adult guest)
  • Disposable slippers (1 pair per adult guest
  • Hand towel
  • Doggie bag from our Wombat
  • Tea towel
  • Oven glove
  • Washing up liquid
  • Semi skimmed milk
  • Selection of tea and coffee sachets
  • Selection of pods (if there’s a coffee machine)

If you’re staying more than 7 nights we’ll get you a change of towels and bedding half way through your stay.

Do you charge for children?

Children under 4 are free,provided they don’t need a bed made up.  Once they need a bed children are charged at normal rates to cover the cost of cleaning and laundry.
